Flashback. 1957 F.B. Mondial Grand Prix Racing Motorcycle.

Between 1949 and 1957, F.B. Mondial dominated the Motorcycle World Championship. With four championships in that span, This Mondial was ridden by Cecil Sandford to the 250cc World Championship in 1957, winning six rounds including the Isle of Mann TT. Once one of the most advanced motorcycles on the planet, this Mondial has an important place in racing history. It will be auctioned (estimated bid US$ 110,000 – 170,000) at the Bonhams Spring Stafford Sale on April 22nd, 2018.

    I can’t imagine mocking any bike that won at the IOM, I’m not worthy (bowing) especially considering what some “state of the art” cars looked like in the late 40’s/early 50’s! Outstanding piece of racing history.

    Woody’s is right. Not only was this bleeding edge technology of the time, but can you imagine the cajones it took to ride these on road courses like the Isle of Man inches away from stone walls and houses at full tilt! Amazing.
