Guy Martin’s Wall of Death World Record Using An Indian Scout. Video.

IndianwallofdeathrecordOn March 28th, riding a modified Indian Scout, English racer/tv host/daredavil Guy Martin reached a speed world record of 60.1 mph on his first attempt and 70.33 mph (5.2 G) on his second attempt on a special built Wall Of Death. Traditional Wall of Death setup ranges from 20 to 36 feet in diameter with riders along the vertical wall using the centrifugal force to ride at a typical speed of about 20 mph. To reach a world record over 60 mph, Guy Martin was riding a Wall Of Death with a 387 ft circumference. His machine was a modified new Indian Scout with Rental handlebars, lay-back risers, modified lower frame struts to accommodate foot-plates, 18″ wheels, a shortened rear fender and of course a special paint job for the televised event. Guy Martin also reached an absolute world record of 78.103 mph on a custom based BSA prepared by himself. Watch the short video.

My favorite living racer. Guy Martin is the real deal.

That Scout sure does look good wearing 18″ wheels.

How about a picture of the BSA that he holds the world record on?

What is the diameter of this wall of death? It’s been a while since I was in school, but I figured 123 feet. Is this correct?

Guy Martin rules but the new Scout got it’s butt handed to it by a BSA. Their new slogan should be, “The new Scout, even modified it’s still not as good or as pretty as a modified BSA that’s been out of production for decades”.

Riding around in a wooden barrel ain’t no thang for this man….anyone who competes in the Isle of Man TT has balls and skills to ride a motorcycle anywhere, anything. Plus, he is pretty funny to listen to, even though I can barely make out what he is saying.

Now there’s a Scout that Indian should produce. Very cool.
