Burly Brat Style Seats For Your Sporty

bratstyle1But what the F**k is a Brat style? Well it’s a style of bikes largely inspired by those built by a shop called the Brat Style Garage in Japan. Usually customs built out of necessity for the Japanese hipster crowd, with very few frame modifications, a very cool naked look, often black wheels and characterized by a thin solo or two up seat. Burly is launching this type of seats to fit 1996 thru 2003 Sportsters and very soon late models.
bratstyle2They are straight bolt-on on your Sportster, carefully shaped to perfectly follow the frame rails – Brat Style – and available in solo or two up version. Seat pan is made of durable fiberglass. Cover, in ribbed or diamond pattern, is wrapped around a proprietary high density foam to balance style and comfort. Made in the USA. It’s what youngsters want. Give it to them!

Japanese men & women are short and light weight. Reason why they can ride with a thin seat. America, go back in shape…

The new trendy look for Sportster guys under 35. Harley is on it?

Looks to me like Burly is becoming the brand for hipsters. The future? Maybe, at least for a few years.

If I would be 20/30, I would ride this bike around town. But not in purple.

‘Brat’ has been going strong in the US for the last five years so nothing new there .. but IMO the sooner it goes away the happier I’m gonna be . As far as the brat saddle syndrome . Spanish Inquisition torture devices sums them up quite nicely with even those supposedly more svelte than us [ US ] Japanese riders being in complete agreement !

As to JVT’s [ very ] little comment . Get a grip .. the EU UK & Japan are catching up with us fast and about to surpass us in the waistline/weight wars by a long shot much sooner than later .

TJ Martin. Regarding waist line, you must not have traveled in Europe & Asia. Nobody will ever get as fat as an American. Your prediction is wrong. Regarding the Brat style, it’s still marginal in the US, but it grows.

TJ Martin must be old…Like the brat style. Lots of attitude that some young riders crave for.

Japanese men. Average weight 138 lbs. Japanese women 97 lbs. They can ride this type of bikes.

    Ride young, ride slim.

    Pretty kewl

Hmmm… I’m 52, and I can still ride whtever I like, and look fairly good doing it. The Brat style is not new in the US either. Old Honda CB’s have “sported” this look for years, it being cheaper to achieve than a cafe style seat and cowl. The Brat scene in Japan usually also includes a duckbill fender rotated forward, a smallish tank, and very thin handle bars. Good on Burly for making it even easier for those old “hipsters” like me who might like the look,

Seats are nice…and thin. For young guys and gals not taller than 5.5″.

    You guys crack us up.

Is it just me or do these look like a 60’s era “Cobra” seat…… ???

  17. 17 Nov 12th, 2014 at 1:13 am

A flat version of a Cobra seat was my first impression, too.

Jones Customs here in England builds some pretty good so called ‘Brat style’ Sportsters – he calls them Crazy Orange style after the Japanese shop that started ‘the look’

18bravo – the most factually correct comment here; I was about to post almost verbatim; viz nothing ‘new’, but nonetheless confirms the fact that bolt-on is the new “custom”…

  20. 20 Nov 12th, 2014 at 7:40 am

“Brat Style” is on its way.

I beats the crap out of the “Rat” style which seemed to be the “go to” style for many for a long time.

    I’m in

    Steve Carr

I have always been a brat! Still at 42!!! So, it’s my style.

  22. 22 Jusmecuz Nov 12th, 2014 at 3:36 pm

    I like it
