ACCEL Expands Stealth Supercoil Applications To Harley-Davidson Sportsters

ACCELStealthSuperCoilsSportsterAs a reminder, eliminate the need For ignition wires by mounting Coils Directly to the spark plugs. The system is an easy cosmetic upgrade for a custom and clean Appearance and requires no cutting or wires splicing. In addition the Accel Stealth Supercoil delivers up to 20% more voltage than the oem ignition coil for quicker engine starting and better throttle response.

ACCEL’s Stealth SuperCoils for Sportsters will be available Fall 2014, joining the Twin-Cam applications already available. First introduced in late-2013 for Harley-Davidson Twin-Cam engines, in addition to the flat black and natural aluminum finishes, the Sportster Stealth SuperCoils will be offered in flat black with polished aluminum edges.

Each SuperCoil mounts directly to the spark plug and features a cross-functional cast aluminum cover that also acts as a heat sink, pulling heat away from the cylinder heads.

Thanks to high quality Delphi connectors, installation is a simple plug and play affair. The coil itself boasts a faster rise time and higher voltage than the traditional system, meaning the plugs receive maximum spark energy and perform even better. As with all ACCEL SuperCoils, the Stealth SuperCoils are covered by ACCEL’s famous limited lifetime warranty. Applications are for 2007-2014 Sportsters. MSRP $229.99. X HD Rider: has the MSD coils for the Vic steel frame bikes. They are not wireless like these though. I don’t know enough about electrics in this case to know how they did that. I can understand the ground at the plug but not how they get the hot lead to the plug. These are about $150 less than the MSD coils as well.

After riding the new Scout, why bother?

So the 2 coils are mounted on hot vibrating heads using heat sinks “pulling heat away from the cylinder heads” then through the spark plugs and coils ? Hopefully I misunderstood as I fail to see where this is an improvement. What is a “limited lifetime warranty?”

Great look – now all we need to do is get rid of all the other ugly stuff!
