Breaking News. Erik Buell To Unveil New American Sport Bike At AIMExpo In Orlando On October 16.

erikbuell1 just confirmed that a new sport bike will be unveiled October 16 at the in Orlando, Fla. on October 16. I will be on location at Erik Buell’s booth and report.

The new, street-legal high performance motorcycle carries EBR’s model designation 1190RX and is a direct descendant of EBR’s race-bred limited edition 1190RS Super Bike. While the 1190RX shares its sibling’s 1190cc engine and many of EBR’s exclusive performance and handling-enhancing features, it is described as a new design created to tame the wildest roads and rouse the most demanding riders.

erikbuell2“This is the culmination of decades of dedication, innovation and teamwork,” said EBR founder Erik Buell. “We have been working to create a pure rider’s machine and a true world brand. From the heartland and the heart of America, these are extraordinary motorcycles that discerning riders everywhere will be passionate to own.”

The unveiling of the EBR 1190RX will take place in EBR’s booth number 1157 at the AIMExpo at 12:00 noon on October 16. Erik Buell will also announce a number of new developments. Founded in November 2009, produces street and racing motorcycles, based in East Troy, Wisconsin, USA. Always very interesting to see what he can do with nobody looking over his shoulder…

The  will be held on October 16-20, 2013 (Dealers Days: Oct. 16-17. Consumer Days: Oct. 18-20) in parallel of Daytona Biketoberfest at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.

The enthusiasim in the USA on sports bikes is always high, but will that transfer to sales ?
The Buell bikes are great and suit twisty challenging roads, they are well liked over here.
I have seen in the media allot of them made into Choppers in the States.
Cheap second hand motors . The Rotax motored bikes are a different animal again.
The bikes will be brilliant and innovative !
I sincerely hope he does well !

The KTM 1190 adventure, ( it is my dream bike, done with my road king ), was demoed this last weekend in steamboat springs. This rotax motor is going to be a beast!

Good luck Eric! Keep the faith!

    Be well

@Kyle, how was Mr. Buell wronged? No other person on the planet got as much in-house support from H-D including sweetheart parts access and eventually access to a premier dealership network. The public votes with it’s collective wallet and the customer base voted for other products/mfrs. I don’t see that being Harley’s fault even though some folks claim H-D didn’t push the bikes. Chevy doesn’t “push” the Corvette either, but it’s no mystery to find where they’re sold and everybody knew where to go look at a Buell.

Eric’s challenge will be the new bike’s selling price. His Buell race bikes are way too expensive in the $60,000 range.

It will be very difficult for Eric to come down to the $20-23,000 price point of the top of the line high performance Superbikes offered by Ducati, Aprilia, BMW with their high-end Ohlins adjustable electronic suspension, ABS, Traction Control, adjustable engine management.

We are anxious to see what he is bringing out, and wish him the best success.
