Price has a long background in the industry and is i think a member of the Sturgis Hall Of Fame. So, he knows… Enough politics!

  3. 3 Greg Oct 20th, 2012 at 9:11 am

Will Kenny act independently from his association with the Hamsters?

Just to be clear – the current story on Cyril’s blog is correct. We are very proud to have Kenny on the Board of Directors of the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum. Previously, Cyril reported Kenny would be Executive Director of the museum. I will continue to serve in that position as long as the current Board of Directors sees that as a good relationship.

All board members should be active professionals in the motorcycle industry. How many are? One?

  13. 13 Drake Oct 21st, 2012 at 11:16 am

How many Motorcycle Hall Of Fame in America? Which one is the most prestigious? Just curious.

In this type of organizations, in all industries, politics almost always prevail.

Are all these people working in the motorcycle business? Who are they?

  17. 17 Mac Oct 21st, 2012 at 1:41 pm

Congrats to Kenny. I wonder if his move out of CA was due to SB435. If you don’t pay attention, this law will be in your state….all in a move towards the upcoming (as per the EPA)” Global Harmonization of Motorized Vehicles based on European Standards”

California has approx 1,200,000 registered motorcycle riders…obviously the land of milk and honey, the Golden State….is now a cess pool of corruption. I hope Kenny’s business thrives in his new location.

Best of luck Kenny. I met you at Sturgis 50th. There were certain pipes I wanted for my bike. I rode to your warehouse in California from Sturgis and at your shop you made and installed my pipes while I was there. I then rode back to Vancouver. Great service Kenny, won’t forget it.

  20. 20 Harl Oct 21st, 2012 at 7:19 pm

Yeah, how’s about the conection with motorcycles for all the directors!

  21. 21 Christine Paige Diers Oct 22nd, 2012 at 11:15 am

While there are quite a few very good motorcycle museums in America, to my knowledge there are only two Motorcycle Halls of Fame – the Sturgis Motorcycle Hall of Fame and the American Motorcyclists Association Hall of Fame. Sturgis also has the only Freedom Fighters Hall of Fame as far as I know.

As to the members of the Board of Directors, the list provided by Rodent is a bit out of date. The current board consists of President Dave Davis, Vice President Brian Neumann, Treasurer Robin Baldwin. Other directors are Dr. Craig Bailey, Vickie Netterberg, Terry Rymer, Loren Stanley, Rod Woodruff, City Council Member Marcia Johnston and our two newest members are Kenny Price and Coe Meyer. All of our members have ties to the motorcycle industry, the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, or a combination of both.

Any time anyone has questions about the museum or the Hall of Fame, they are welcome to me directly.

    Christine Paige Diers
    Executive Director
Sturgis Motorcycle Museum & Hall of Fame

Cyril, thanks for correcting your earlier post indicating that Kenny was replacing Christine Paige Diers as Executive Director. It’s good to see an industry veteran like Kenny becoming a member of the museum’s board but you had some of us worried by indicating Christine was gone. I, for one, am glad to know Christine is in place as Executive Director, especially as the Sturgis Museum moves into its next chapter of expansion and growth.

  23. 23 Oct 22nd, 2012 at 2:51 pm

Congrats to Kenny and congrats to the Museum and Hall of Fame! As popular as the Sturgis Rally is I think it is still under rated and under appreciated by many. Maybe I’m prejudiced because its my favorite but I also think it epitomizes our life style in that the Sturgis “experience” is a real life representation of who we are. Freedom looks like Sturgis during the rally with a small presence of authority, a lot if free enterprise, and “happy” conduct! Nothing’s perfect but I can’t think of any place better for riding motorcyclyes. San Diego is close but it’s in California and not much freedom left around here. Good choiceKenny and good choice H of F!

Are you joining the board to add credibility to the IMBBA and Jeff Starke?

  25. 25 Protech Oct 23rd, 2012 at 2:38 pm

Don’t forget Jeff Starke’s partner, helper, pusher in all wrong directions Joe Distephano.

I am pleased to see that things are clearing up on previous posts as to what is happening at the Sturgis Museum and Hall of Fame.
I do believe that members of the board try to make decision in the best interest of the museum. Like anyone they make these decisions on the facts they have available at the time.
I have learned a long time ago that I will not make everyone happy with decisions and or comments I make from time to time and the board is no different. With that being said I feel it is important to let the board know how we feel on issues.
Again I would like to Thank Christine Paige Diers and Dave Davis for taking time out of their busy schedule to meet with me during Sturgis to discuss some issued I had.
Christine has stated on numerous occasions that people should feel free to her if they have comments, suggestions and or issues with something involving the museum. I am sure she will do her best to answer any questions sent to her.
In the meantime hopefully people will continue to post here on Cyril’s site any opinions and or suggestions they have. Discussions on any and all subjects will continue to give all of us information that will help us make better decisions.

This just sent to me: It appears I have missed the following. It and the comment about how many hats
    joe wears

Joe wears so many hats, it is easy to get confused. Having this many separate links as part of his signature block seems to be adding to the confusion:

Joe “Smoke & Mirrors”. Unemployed, I think. Must be the reason he is wearing so many hats.

Going back to two new people on the Board of Directors.
I have had people asking me questions and I do not have answers to. I have suggested they Christine and or other board members and for different reasons they have asked me to do so on this post and since I am interested as well here they are.
How often does the Board of Directors meet? Is the meeting open to the public? Are people involved with the Museum but not board members allowed to attend? Are guest speakers allowed and if so what must one do to be eligible to speak? Does the board accept written suggestions from people on issues and or policies? If so who should they be directed to? Will someone reply to them on the decision the board made.
Does the board allow people to know who is nominated to a position in the Hall of Fame and who nominated them prior to the board announcing who the actual Inductees are?
I am sure others have questions so please ask.
I believe the Sturgis Museum and Hall of Fame Board Members have many issues that come before them and are trying their best to keep this as Great and Honorable as it has always been as they continue to expand and be able to offer more.
I am sure any help that you can give to help make this happen will be greatly appreciated.

To Mr. Rogue: You didn’t miss anything. Honestly, you are not on my distribution list for any news. I didn’t want to bother you with info that seems to irritate you. I only distribute the information directly to people that actually have interest in the news and not try to create drama as a result of it. No offense to Cyril or others, but but that is why I don’t subscribe to many blogs or have any of them on my distribution list as it is a breeding ground for unnecessary negative BS that is counter productive to the industry in general. The only reason I saw this is that I follow all museum related information on the web as a result of google alerts.

Mr. Protech……..whoever you are. You obviously are mis- informed. I have plenty of work and more coming. In fact, I turn work away weekly…… you see from my client list, I will only render services for people and companies that supply quality products or service to the industry.

It might seem like I wear a lot of hats. Good reason for that….I DO! AND, a lot more than are listed on Rogue’s comments in my personal life as well.

Message to everyone…….anyone that has a problem with me, me directly. No one ever seems shows and I am pretty easy to find.

Finally, Congrats to Kenny Price…..good choice by the board of directors!

Joe Distefano. I know who you are. Nothing against you but what you wrote is at least very misleading.

Joe Distefano. The non-expert in everything. His credentials? Better triple check what he says.
