Nash Motorcycle Looky Bars. From Raw To Copper.

lookybarsCalled “Looky-Looky” (yes, 2 times), these handlebars have a vintage look that so many want to add to their bikes.

They are 29″ wide from end to end, 8″ high with a base of 11.5″  the flat part of this base measuring 5.5″ and a 5″ pullback. Sold with or without dimpling/Drilling, and many finishes including a cool copper. Sold raw $157, Black $177, Chrome $197 Copper $217. .

    Haven’t quite worked out how they can charge more for cool copper bars than chrome! Last time I had anything plated the copper coating was under the chrome!

    Problem with copper plating is that it tarnishes almost instantly… so while it is true that copper plating is the first step in the “triple plate” process, it is more work to copper plate, remove from the tanks, clean it, polish it, then quickly laquer it before it tarnishes.

    Also, usually the copper is laid on thick and buffed to remove imperfections in the base metal so that the chrome is perfect. But if the chrome is the final step, it requires more prep work on the base metal, usually.
