Join Metzeler on Tuesday, August 4th at Buffalo Chip for a signature event of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally: the 7th Annual Metzeler Sturgis Custom Bike Contest. MC’d by Ted Sands from Performance Machine, the Metzeler Sturgis Custom Bike Contest offers the finest prizes at the rally: a trip for two to Sturgis 2010, a feature story of the winning bike in American Iron magazine, appearance in Metzeler’s 2010 marketing materials, really awesome tires, merchandise and more.     I think if someone claims to be a custom chopper builder, they need to show proof that they built and SOLD at least 3 “custom” bikes in the year prior, and maybe prove that these bikes are still on the road too. If these “contest” organizers use that as a formula, then I think we/they could get at least one or two more good judges.

    The industry is starting to take a bad turn because of the bullshitters and con-artists claiming to build custom bikes, and it’s the really good reputable “real” custom builders who are being screwed.
