Bikes, Camera, Action

Another contest organized by Harley-Davidson to promote female riding. The factory is searching for female film makers who can capture in a short film the sense of empowerment, freedom and adventure that is inherent when women get behind the handlebars of their very own Harley-Davidson® motorcycle. The film of no longer than 2 minutes must capture the female riding experience and includes at least one image of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. The film should inspire women to embrace the sport and get behind the handlebars by showing how women riders have gotten into riding and what it means to them to be a female Harley-Davidson rider. Entries must be submitted by mail in DVD, WMV, AVI, MOV or MPEG files burned to a data CD-R or DVD-R. All Entries must be postmarked by September 30, 2008 and received by October 7, 2008 to be considered. The winning film maker will receive: $5,000 cash for her next project, a new high definition video camera, a Harley-Davidson® leather jacket, the opportunity to attend and profile her film at a premiere party in Los Angeles. Ahh, It seems both YouTube and reality TV have created a venue even the Motor Company wants to get into…
Bring on the gals on bikes, I’ll watch!

    Another weak promo angle.
Sales are down – so the motorcompany starts making a big deal about promoting the ladies.
What next – an urban outreach program?
