Ridley Oeight Models

I have to tell you the truth. When Ridley appeared on the motorcycle scene, I was belonging to the group of those who classified their bikes as made for novices and women. Then, 3 years ago during Bike Week, I had the chance to ride one through the Daytona Bike Week traffic. And I enjoyed very much the no clutch/no shift of this automatic transmission motorcycle. I remember that riding it back well past midnight along a deserted International Speedway Avenue I did some accelerations which satisfied my taste for speed almost as much as would have had any other  “gears” bike. I even liked the look of the bike. So what’s new with the Oeight (08) models? Eight distinct designs from $13,995 to $25,995, no 6th gear, of course, but a parking brake for security (seems evident to me with an automatic transmission), and a new twenty-five months factory backed warranty through its 60 dealers. That may be the end-game for those of us with arthritis.
There are days when heavy stop-n-go traffic can be a real challenge for a clutch hand.

these bikes are nice..but not the only solution to a tired clutch hand! we have been putting auto clutches on open belt drives lately and they are working out great. you do still have to shift but no clutching to stop and start…also when you do have to pull the clutch the lever pull is cut by 75%. its a sweet setup.

    Right A1,

Ya its the Automotive clutch that makes the Beemer so attractive.
Even so, i’m clutchless upshifting most of the time. Fortunately the BMW tranny is built like a tractor.

Cant ride the 3 spring triumph clutches or the diaphram Norton of Endfield clutches much anymore………:-(

What’s your setup look like, will it fitt the smaller English primary?

sorry nicker it only fits common use open primaries, but if you know a good machinist it could be adapted as long as your pressure plate on the outside of the clutch bike has a large enough diameter, measure a clutch plate and give me a call,.
